Dobby Hat

Being obsessed with knitting and Harry Potter, I had to knit this Dobby hat that I found on the  stitch-n-snitch blog. It really couldn't have been any easier. Just knit a tube and do a three needle bind off. I plan to knit several more.

I really dig the way it makes you look like you have house elf ears. I hope to see some house elf
action in the Order of the Phoenix movie.

The Doctor

After receiving the new Doctor Who season two for my birthday, I went online looking for a Doctor Who t-shirt. Since I couldn't find anything remotely cool, I decided to make my own. What Doctor Who fan wouldn't want a TARDIS t-shirt? The shirt on the right I designed last fall, after thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. It was inspired by the Fantastic Four logo. Hiking all 2,174 miles of the AT made me feel a bit like a super hero, so it made sense.

If your a Doctor Who fan or have hiked the AT these shirts and others are available at my Cafe Press store, Azure Slumber.

Stripy Hat for Mom

Mom asked me to knit her a hat like mine. Again with 100% alpaca from Blue Sky Alpacas. I think I'll make the next one longer so it's more droopy. Check out the cool frosty pine tree in the background.

Seed Stitch Beret

I decided to knit my sister a seed stitch hat to match the scarf I made her for Christmas. I found a beret pattern in stockinette stitch and changed it to seed stitch. Not bad for my second hat ever.

Irish Hiking Scarf

Knitted this scarf for me Mum for Christmas. I couldn't resist knitting an Irish Hiking Scarf, since I'm and 1/8th Irish and I just finshed hiking all 2,174.6 miles of the Appalachian Trail. It was fun learning to do cables, and not really that complicated. I used Alchemy Yarns Synchronicity, 50% silk and 50% merino wool. This might be my favorite yarn to knit with so far. Pattern Link.
